Call for Birmingham businesses to turn yellow
A city based national charity is appealing to local businesses to do something yellow on Friday March 2.
Big Yellow Friday is the national fundraising and awareness day for Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF), the UK’s only charity dedicated to fighting all liver diseases in children. And up and down the country, workplaces are planning yellow themed events.
“Every week 20 children in the UK are diagnosed with a life-threatening liver disease,” explained CLDF Chief Executive, Alison Taylor. “We provide families affected with information, emotional support and the knowledge that we are funding vital research. Big Yellow Friday gives everyone the chance to help us help them and it’s so easy to join in.
“By simply asking staff to wear yellow for the day or holding a bake sale, companies can help us make a real difference in fighting serious diseases for which there is still no cure. We’ve already had a good response from a number of local businesses who are keen for staff to have some fun whilst making a real difference to a locally based charity. But there is always room for more. We have plenty of support and materials available for Birmingham businesses who would like to join in so just give us a call!”
