Anthony Collins supports a magical Christmas for Care Leavers
Local law firm, Anthony Collins is working with Birmingham City Council, the Birmingham Voluntary Sector Council (BVSC) and other partners to help bring a successful Christmas Dinner project to Birmingham.
The meal, which will be held in a top restaurant in the city centre, will bring together young adults who have been in care and who are no longer in contact with their families for a special celebration.
The concept, which has been successful in other cities across the UK, is being brought to the city by Mike Dennis, who was in care himself. The group organising the event is now looking for support to help deliver a Christmas Day to remember.
There are a variety of ways to get involved. The group has set up a crowdfunding page to encourage people to donate towards the cost of meals for guests. There is also a wish-list set up that allows people to buy gifts for the guests. The details can be found here.
The group is also looking for non-financial support, such as gifts and transport. They are also asking people to volunteer to help deliver the event. Opportunities range from helping to wrap gifts and negotiate taxi arrangements through to attending and helping to entertain guests on the day. You can register your interest here.
