Personal Safety Training Sessions

Colmore Business District (CBD) has partnered again with former Royal Marine Commando, Daniel Gibbin, to offer a series of free of charge personal safety training sessions to employees in the District in 2014. This follows the success of the programme of personal safety training sessions that were delivered in 2012 and 2013.

The dates and times for spring 2014 are:
• Tuesday 25th March, 5.30pm-7.30pm
• Tuesday 1st April, 5.30pm-7.30pm
• Tuesday 8th April, 5.30pm-7.30pm
• Tuesday 15th April, 5.30pm-7.30pm
• Tuesday 22nd April, 5.30pm-7.30pm
• Tuesday 29th April, 5.30pm-7.30pm

This programme is part of CBD’s key objective to secure improvements to actual and perceived safety across the business district, addressing concerns about crime and becoming a victim of crime.

The sessions provide an introduction to personal safety, including the law, crime prevention and how to manage conflict. The training focusses on verbal communication skills, including how to diffuse aggressive situations, as well as self defence actions.

Due to the high demand, these sessions are limited to employees in the CBD area only. For further information, contact Jonathan Bryce on 0121 236 0269.
