Facewatch

In 2014, Colmore Business District piloted a new initiative to help report and prevent crime. Facewatch is an online crime reporting and prevention application that is linked to West Midlands Police, providing real time reports of issues in Colmore Business District.

Colmore BID paid for all of its businesses to be able to access and use the Facewatch system free of charge. Once a business is set up, they can report crime automatically on line, link their CCTV cameras to the system, add appropriate members of staff and keep up to date with incidents occurring both in the District and across the city.

The system has been endorsed by West Midlands Police. All of the data and information a business submits is done so securely. Colmore Business District has a closed group on Facewatch, allowing you to share information, in confidence, with neighbouring businesses.

Due to the success of the pilot in Colmore Business District and Southside Business Improvement District, the Birmingham Community Safety Partnership has made Facewatch available, free of charge, to businesses across the city.
