Music for Youth Festival

Colmore Business District  took part in the Music for Youth Festival in July 2014 and brought lunchtime live music performances to indoor and outdoor locations in the business quarter.

Music for Youth (MFY) is a national charity that celebrates the achievements of young musicians on a national scale. Every year, MFY produces the Music for Youth National Festival in Birmingham involving more than 8,000 young musicians from across the UK to perform in some of the city’s leading concert halls.

The festival in 2014 marked the first time that performances were brought into the business district to introduce youth music talent to new audiences.

To celebrate this, MFY, in partnership with Colmore BID, sourced a range of exciting acts to perform in various locations across the District from 8th to 12th July. The performances took place from 12.30pm – 2pm, and ranged from a 26 strong female chamber choir to an up and coming rock band.
