Davisons Law Brings Annual Charity Total to Over £5,100 Following Weekend Challenge Double-Header

A leading law firm has brought its total raised for blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia to £5,118 following two demanding fundraising challenges completed this month, as part of its pioneering support for children’s leukaemia research.
More than 20 members of staff from Davisons Law took on the gruelling Wolf Run, which combines running, swimming and obstacle courses, raising £978 for the Birmingham-based charity. The same weekend saw three colleagues complete an epic five-day London to Paris cycle ride, adding a further £715 to the fundraising total, with more donations expected from both events.
Davisons Law, which employs over 470 staff across 19 locations throughout England and Wales, is one of the first members of Club 10, a groundbreaking initiative launched by Cure Leukaemia to fund vital clinical trials for children battling blood cancer. The firm has pledged £10,000 per year to support the ATICUS Paediatric Transplant Trials Network, which operates across ten children’s hospitals nationwide.
The weekend challenges mark the latest in an ongoing series of fundraising activities for Davisons Law, following the team’s successful participation in the Stafford Half Marathon earlier this year. The firm will continue its charity efforts with a tennis tournament at Cannon Hill Park on 28th and 29th June, followed by a charity football tournament at Alvechurch FC on 6th July.
Darryl Wilkes, Equity Director at Davisons Law, who completed the London to Paris cycle alongside Mike Anson, Head of New Build at the firm’s Stafford office, and Cure Leukaemia’s Jim Varnish, said: “We are incredibly proud to be one of the first members of Club 10. As our chosen charity of the year, Cure Leukaemia’s mission to advance treatments for blood cancer patients resonates deeply with our values. Being part of this pioneering initiative that directly supports children’s clinical trials across the country is both an honour and a responsibility we take very seriously.
“What an incredible weekend for the team. To see over 20 of our colleagues take on the Wolf Run whilst we were cycling through France really demonstrates the fantastic spirit we have at Davisons Law. The physical challenges were tough, but knowing we’re raising money for such an important cause kept us all going.”
He added: “We’re only just getting started with our fundraising efforts. The response from our staff has been phenomenal, and we’re confident we’ll smash our £10,000 target this year. Everyone’s already looking forward to our tennis tournament later this month and the football tournament in July.”
The Wolf Run challenge saw Davisons Law staff navigate a demanding course featuring natural and man-made obstacles, river crossings, and trail running across challenging terrain. The London to Paris cycle covered approximately 300 miles over five days, taking the team through the English countryside and across northern France.
Davisons Law’s fundraising efforts support Cure Leukaemia’s mission to improve outcomes for blood cancer patients through pioneering research, clinical trials, and comprehensive patient support services. The ATICUS Paediatric Transplant Trials Network requires £1 million annually to maintain its crucial research work supporting children battling blood cancer across ten hospitals nationwide.
The firm’s upcoming charity football tournament on 6th July still has two spaces available for teams wishing to participate in the fundraising effort.
