Birmingham PA Awards
A specialist recruitment firm in Birmingham is sharing its expertise with PAs in the city to help them take the next step up the career ladder.
Katie Bard has teamed up with established Birmingham PA Forum, the growing network of personal and executive assistants, to offer its 330 members a greater insight into progressing in their careers.
Kam Vara and Verity Stokes, directors at Katie Bard, part of the Angela Mortimer Group, were guest speakers at the latest Birmingham PA Forum education event held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in the city centre.
They were invited as part of Katie Bard becoming a headline sponsor of the inaugural Birmingham PA Awards, launched by the Birmingham PA Forum this year to recognise and celebrate the unsung heroes of business throughout the West Midlands.
Kam said: “We are excited to be a headline sponsor of the first ever Birmingham PA Awards and to be working with the Birmingham PA Forum to look at delivering an educational element which will help its members take their careers to the next level.
“We want to highlight the growing importance and power of the PA. The role has changed dramatically and we are seeing a massive shift in terms of what employers want. CEOs and directors are looking for a PA to be their right-hand person.
“We specialise in recruiting for a full range of office support and executive roles, including PAs and EAs, and are seeing more and more senior positions becoming available in Birmingham.
“A lot of PAs are unsure how to reach those levels and this is a great opportunity for us to help them make that next step into a higher or alternative role within areas such as projects, operational management and HR.”
The Birmingham PA Forum was established in 2016 as a platform for personal and executive assistants to share ideas, suggestions, better ways of working, best practice, personal development and build a network across the city.
Founder Daniel Skermer said: “Personal assistants are integral to a business and we felt it was time for their impact and achievements to be recognised through the Birmingham PA Awards.
“We are delighted to have Katie Bard on board and for them to share their insights into career progression as education is one of our core values.”
There are 25 finalists in five categories of the Birmingham PA Awards and the winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held at The Vox, Resorts World Birmingham, on July 20.
