A Birmingham based national charity is appealing for would-be fundraisers to help turn the city yellow on Friday March 2.

Big Yellow Friday is the national fundraising day for Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF), based in Colmore Business District and the UK’s leading charity dedicated to fighting liver disease in children. And up and down the country, schools, workplaces and community groups are organising yellow themed events in a bid to raise £70,000.

“A whole range of events is being planned around the country – from Wear Something Yellow to School or work Days and yellow themed cake sales to casino nights and cabaret parties”, explained CLDF’s Fundraising Manager, Rachel Murphy. “But at the moment we haven’t got that many planned for Birmingham and the surrounding area and, as we’re based in the city, we’d love to see more.

“We know Birmingham is a big hearted city and that people love to support a local charity so we’re hoping that local people will seize the chance to turn the place yellow and have fun raising funds for a fantastic cause!”
