BirminghamLive’s #BrumFeeds Big Drop

Victoria Square
Victoria Square
Birmingham, B1 1BD

During the past year, a staggering 41,436 three-day emergency food supplies were given out by Birmingham's foodbanks. That’s a massive 23% increase on the previous year, and 5% more than the national average.

That’s why BirminghamLive has launched its #BrumFeeds campaign for another year, in partnership with the Trussell Trust – the UK's largest foodbank charity.

On Friday, August 16, the #BrumFeeds Big Drop event is taking place in Victoria Square and businesses across the District are invited to come by and make a donation. Whether a whole basket of food or just a single tin of baked beans, every contribution makes a huge difference to struggling local families.

Offices can start their own collections and bring them down to Victoria Square on the day and all businesses who donate will be thanked in the Birmingham Mail and Birmingham Live. All donations will be split between the 10 Trussell Trust foodbanks in Birmingham - more information on the city’s foodbanks is available here.

The most needed items are as follows:

  • Instant coffee
  • Jam
  • Biscuits or snack bars
  • Pasta Sauces
