Heavy Metal Badger – Book Reading with Duncan Beedie at BMAG
Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery is pleased to present a special family-friendly book reading and signing with children’s author and illustrator Duncan Beedie on Saturday 13 December.
Beedie will read from his picture book Heavy Metal Badger, the story of a music-loving badger who adores loud, heavy metal and searches for the perfect band to call his own. Packed with rock-themed puns, lively illustrations and plenty of humour, the tale follows the determined badger as he tries out everything from choirs to marching bands before finally discovering his true musical home.
Celebrated for his bold artwork and energetic storytelling, Duncan Beedie has become a favourite among young readers and parents. His books – known for their warmth, wit and memorable animal characters – are especially popular with children aged three to eight.
Each hour-long interactive session at 10:30, 13:00 and 14:30 will include a live reading by the author followed by a fun “create your own band name” activity designed to spark creativity and imagination.
Tickets: £3.50 for one child and one accompanying adult. Spaces are limited, and early booking is recommended.
Signed copies of Heavy Metal Badger will be available for purchase.
