The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) Regulation Roadshow: Birmingham Roundtable
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) invites Birmingham-based businesses to attend an in-person roundtable at Birmingham City Council House on Thursday 20 November 2025, as part of its nationwide Regulation Roadshow.
This event follows the publication of DBT’s new policy paper, “New approach to ensure regulators and regulation support growth”, which outlines the Government’s commitment to reducing regulatory complexity, uncertainty, and excessive risk aversion. The roundtable offers a unique opportunity for businesses to share their experiences and help shape the next phase of regulatory reform.
Why Attend?
DBT is keen to hear directly from businesses—large and small, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts—about how regulation affects them. Insights gathered will inform how the Government meets its target to reduce the administrative burden of regulation on business by 25%.
Discussion Topics Will Include:
- Regulatory burdens that hinder growth and innovation
- Direct and indirect costs of regulation
- Opportunities for digitisation and improved regulatory processes
- Inclusive regulation that reflects diverse community and industry needs
Have Your Say
Ahead of the event, DBT encourages attendees to complete the Business Questionnaire, designed to capture a wide range of perspectives and experiences.
