Welcome to Birmingham: Equality in the Workplace
Birmingham is one of the UK’s most diverse cities. One of the outcomes of our pioneering Future Business District study was the need to ensure that businesses maximise the fantastic potential of our diverse city community.
There is an abundance of opportunities for aspiring leaders – but what does true leadership look like and what are the key skills needed for future leaders in the context of Birmingham’s diverse workforce?
Join Colmore BID & The Equal Group for this one-hour interactive session as we explore inclusive leadership. The session will be focused on equipping future leaders to engage meaningfully and leverage their own experiences, vulnerability and empathy.
Participants can ask any questions they may have around equality, diversity and inclusion, and will be given practical ways in which they can improve the approach inclusion in their workplace.
Colmore BID has recently started its own journey to develop this further within our organisation. You can read more about this here.
Over the last two years we have been privileged to welcome new talent into Birmingham city centre, many of which will have joined their new roles during the Covid-19 pandemic and as a result were likely working from home.
After speaking with a number of partners and businesses we realised something needed to be done to support and welcome new professionals in the city. This could be to learn new skills, understand the benefits of networking or to meet up with like-minded individuals to create a social network.
This is why we have launched Welcome to Birmingham, 15 events across a week to welcome you to the city, offering you an opportunity to learn new skills, see new places and meet new people.
