Midven growing alongside entrepreneurial second-city with two new hires
Leading venture capital firm Midven is extending its team with the addition of two new analysts following a sustained period of growth and investment in the West Midlands.
Following Midven’s landmark 25th year of investing in the region, graduates George Wood and Liam Bradley have joined the firm in a period of strong and progressive growth, with recent Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) investments in companies eTravel Safety, Assembled Electronics Solutions (AES) and Geospatial Insight Ltd.
Liam graduated from the University of Birmingham and wanted to continue his development and career progression in the entrepreneurial second city, which for the last five years has been voted the best city outside London for the highest number of start-ups created.
Graduating from the University of Manchester, George relished the opportunity to return to his home town of Birmingham and help Midven develop its expanding portfolio in and around the youngest city in the country.
Both will bring problem-solving skills and real energy and enthusiasm to their roles, adding a fresh outlook and input to Midven’s added value approach to its portfolio.
Midven’s Director Roger Wood, said: “We’re delighted Liam and George have joined Midven at such an exciting time of development and progression at the firm. Both are eager to hit the ground running and focus on how they can add the value to each fund they’re working on.
“It’s an extremely busy time for Midven with our extensive MEIF investment activity and recent launch of the GB EIS Fund. We are looking forward to Liam and George contributing to our ongoing growth as a venture capital firm.”
