More than 50 free health workshops and classes at Colmore BID’s first ever Wellbeing Fortnight

21 January 2020

Colmore BID is offering over 50 free workshops and activity sessions to help Business District workers improve their mental wellbeing and physical health for the new year.

Running from Monday, January 27, to Friday, February 7, Colmore BID’s first Wellbeing Fortnight invites participants to do or learn something a little different, with the goal of helping people to improve their overall health.

Visit www.colmorebusinessdistrict.com for more information and to book.

According to leading mental health charity Mind, approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year and in England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week.

Among the Colmore BID Wellbeing Fortnight workshops is a starters’ guide to meditation which will explore how meditation may provide more energy, mental clarity and support better sleep. The workshops will also discover what it is and deliver practical tips on how it can work for anyone.

Multi-award-winning Urban Training will host pre-work bootcamps to get energised for the day ahead by combining body weight exercises with interval and strength training to provide a challenging workout.

Among the selection of nutrition workshops is ‘10 fundamentals of nutrition for physical and mental health’. This is a simple and easy to follow alternative approach to a fad diet. Find out our 10 fundamentals for both physical and mental health and how to apply them to different lifestyles.

Many of us can relate to feeling burned out in life. Colmore BID’s ‘switching off’ workshops give you advice on how to down tools and enjoy leisure time.

Meanwhile, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery’s Be Mindful tour invites attendees to take a moment to breathe, relax and enjoy the art from a different perspective led by a professional mindfulness coach.

Sleep is one of the most overlooked aspects when improving our lifestyles. If you’re struggling to make progress with your health and fitness the key is probably hidden in your sleep routine. Wellbeing Fortnight workshops will explain why sleep is so important and how to improve it.

All of the events are being hosted across multiple dates and venues in the Business District during Wellbeing Fortnight and are free to attend. Visit www.colmorebusinessdistrict.com to book through special Eventbrite links.
