£10k Fundraising Target for SIFA Fireside

Colmore BID have been supporting SIFA Fireside since November 2015 and so far has raised £9000.00.

This year, Sifa Fireside celebrate their tenth anniversary so the Community Building Working Group have decided to set a target for 2017 of £10000.00. To do this the group have organised many fundraising activities which are all accessible to colleagues in the District. We have held wellbeing workshops, social and networking events and quiz nights.

And there’s plenty more planned for the rest of the year, such as christmas markets, choir performances and to tie in with the ’10’ theme, a 10km sponsored walk around the perimeter of the Cathedral. This will happen on 18th August from 6-8pm. Perfect timing so we can have a drink or two together afterwards!

This year we also have a fantastic group of 5 cyclists from Barclays and AON who are taking part in Velo Birmingham which is a 100 mile bike ride through Birmingham, Worcestershire and Herefordshire on closed roads. Haroon Rashid and Paul Jackson from Barclays and Dominic Richardson, James Trevis and Alex Hickman have all committed to taking part in the ride and to raising £400 each for Sifa Fireside.

Melissa Roche from Sifa Fireside met the riders on 15th March to talk to them about the work of the charity and how their contributions will make a difference.

The Community Building  Working Group is made up of Board Director Alex Tross who chairs the group and six volunteers from the District:

Lucie Sissons, Core Marketing (Vice Chair)

Jennie Dale, FleetMilne Property

Alex Nicholson-Evans, Birmingham Museums Trust

Michelle Smith, Barclays Colmore Row

Marcia Burd, Barclays One Snowhill

Arabella Love, CBRE

Beth Sadler from Aston Business School also sits on the group
