Clean Air Fortnight 2018

As an active supporter of the Green Travel movement, Colmore Bid has promoted Clean Air Day, the national event, in June each year. The principal aim is to encourage behaviour change by showing people that train, bus and cycle commuting is for them.

In 2018 we are broadening this out to embrace cycle week from 11th-15th June. We are working with Cycle Republic, the cycle store located on Colmore Row for two events during the week as follows:

On 12th June, Cycle Republic will be inviting guests to visit the shop and have a free cycle maintenance workshop to keep your bike on the road.  For details, and to book, click here.

Cycle Republic will also be running a Lunchtime drop-in session on 13th June in Church Street Square. Bring your bike along to chat about riding, safety and cycle technology out on the street 12.00-14.00. No booking required – come along and say Hi.

During the second week we are supporting bus travel with the National Express Buses’ Platinum model on show in Victoria Square on 19th June. Come along to see a bus with wifi and phone charging points and talk about the easy ways to pay and the routes to and from work.

On the 21st June will be working with the RSPB to host a picnic on Church Street Square.  Join us for a free lunch while RSPB tell us about the importance of urban green space for both wildlife, and us humans!  To book your ticket, click here.
