Colmore Square Garden
Welcome to Colmore Square Garden!
Colmore Square is getting greener! We’re thrilled to introduce Colmore Square Garden, a transformative planting project from our Outstanding Places Working Group, designed to revitalise this important urban space.
Through a variety of soft landscaping improvements, we’re bringing nature back into the heart of the city, making Colmore Square a more inviting and biodiverse space for everyone.
What’s Happening?
With the support of the Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust, we’re enhancing Colmore Square with:
- Better-maintained shrubs – Ensuring our current greenery thrives.
- New planters and bulbs – Bringing seasonal bursts of colour to the square.
- Diverse planting – A mix of shrubs, perennials, herbaceous plants, and ground cover to enrich the landscape.
- New bird boxes – Creating safe spaces for urban birds to nest.
- Introducing bee & insect boxes – Supporting pollinators and essential insect life.
- New trees – Freshly planted to provide shade, beauty, and a home for wildlife.
The Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust are on the search for volunteers to help us bring this vision to life! Whether you have a green thumb or just want to try something new, our planting exercises are a fantastic way to enjoy some fresh air and add a touch of greenery to your lunch break.
