Community Building Update January
Health and Wellbeing
Our second Wellbeing Fortnight is going to be taking place from Monday 8th to Friday 19 February.
Workshops are all going to be online and will be priced at £3 each. You will be able to buy an individual pass for £15 to have access to all sessions. We also have for purchase corporate passes, which will give all staff within your company access to all the workshops. Get in touch with email@example.com if you would like more information on this.
Before Christmas we put on a number of craft wellbeing sessions which were extremely popular – we sold over 100 craft boxes. We would normally put on these events in person, prior to Christmas, and they are part of many people’s Christmas build-up, so we wanted to ensure we could still run them while everyone was at home.
Since April 2020 we have been running a free yoga class on our Facebook page which is aimed to help people while working from home. We are also working with a number of Personal Trainers from PureGym to run regular online fitness classes.
Community and Networking
We have recently launched our new networking event called Network and Drinks. As we still aren’t able to bring back physical events we have decided to move forward with virtual events for now.
This is a fortnightly event where a guest speaker will talk for 20 minutes on a given topic, which will be followed by questions and a discussion. Once the formalities have finished, attendees will then split off into virtual break-out rooms for networking. For now attendees will have to provide their own refreshments!
If you or your company would like to host a session please get in touch with Katy.
For the past four years Colmore BID have held a Christmas Lights Switch On and 2020 was no different, even if it was online.
Glynn Purnell joined us alongside Chair, Nicola Fleet-Milne and entertainment from Luxury Live Music. Nearly 2,000 people have since watched our Christmas Lights Switch On, on Facebook.
We are working with the growing number of charities within the Colmore Business District and surrounding area and asking them how we can best support them.
We are continuing to support homelessness Charity, Sifa Fireside. We are supporting their campaigns and encouraging people to get involved and donate.
We raised over £300 over the festive period for local Food Banks.
