Smith & Williamson Tax LLP, previously BTG Tax, has relocated to the heart of the city centre with a move to 9 Colmore Row, Birmingham.

The move unites the tax specialist division, previously based in Edgbaston, with the firm’s Investment Management team and brings Smith & Williamson’s entire Birmingham operation of over 55 under one roof.

John Hodgson, tax managing partner of Birmingham said:

“We are delighted to now be working from one city centre base – being closer to the professional community will enhance the level of service that we can provide to our national and international clients as well as bringing a more cohesive structure to our Birmingham operation overall.”

Smith & Williamson, the award-winning investment management, tax and business services group, announced the acquisition of the trade and assets of BTG Tax LLP in December last year.

The team transferring from BTG Tax to Smith & Williamson comprised private client, corporate tax, VAT and tax investigations specialists which included eight partners and directors. They were BTG’s managing partner in Birmingham, John Hodgson; corporate tax partners, Ray Abercromby, Kari Campbell and Robert King; Gareth Short who is a tax partner specialising in the sports, media and entertainment sector; tax investigations partner,  Jeff Millington; VAT director, Tony Jackson; and private tax director, Carol Whitehouse.
