Alan Bain

Director

Alan is a Projects Director at Mott MacDonald in Birmingham. Mott MacDonald is a global engineering, management and development consultancy focused on guiding our clients through many of the planet’s most intricate challenges. They are an independent, private company wholly owned by its employees and Alan leads the transport team in Birmingham having worked in the City for the past 25 years.

He became a member of the Accessible and Connected Working Group for Colmore BID in 2014 and as a Board Director is also Chair of the Safe and Sound Working Group. Since 2005 Alan has also been a Trustee at Continental Star FC, a social enterprise and registered charity based in north Birmingham that over the last 40 years has offered a range of community services and sporting activities to all ages.

With three boys at home Alan spends most of his weekends coaching, mentoring and supporting various sports events including football, rugby, tennis and swimming. He is a regular cyclist and is always keen to talk about the benefits of active travel and how the right transport infrastructure can contribute to both the liveability of a place as well as its economic success.

Being involved with Colmore BID provides me with an opportunity to help shape one of the most important physical spaces in the City whilst also contributing to its future economic and cultural success.
