DWF throws support behind Summer in the Square
26 July 2021
We’re delighted to announce that leading global legal business, DWF has been named headline supporter for Colmore BID’s Bank Holiday Summer in the Square event, taking place 26-30 August.
Colmore BID, the organisers of Colmore Food Festival, have partnered with Retail BID and Birmingham City Council, to establish a new outdoor seating space for people to enjoy at any time during the summer months. The colourful beach huts will be open for business 11am-6pm on 26-30 August, featuring five of the city’s top hospitality venues selling an assortment of food and drink. In addition to the beach huts, in July a bandstand was installed in Victoria Square and will feature live music throughout the weekend for visitors to enjoy.
Michele Wilby, CEO of Colmore BID, said: “DWF have been a long-standing supporter of Colmore BID and while Colmore Food Festival may not be taking place this year, we’re pleased to have their support once again. Summer in the Square has been well received by the community and DWF’s support allows us to only build upon an already incredible programme.
Global legal business DWF has had an office in Birmingham for more than eight years and is currently based in the BID at One Snowhill. The office is a full service offering with particular expertise in the Retail, Food and Hospitality; Financial Services; and Real Estate sectors.
Jon Stevens, Managing Partner for DWF’s Birmingham Office, said: “Summer in the Square is a brilliant event which showcases and reflects the fantastic food and hospitality scene in Birmingham. We are delighted to once again be involved in the event to show our support to Colmore BID and fellow businesses in the area.
“Birmingham is a highly exciting place to be for business at the moment with developments such as the arrival of the new Birmingham Health Innovation Campus, HS2 and the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games fast approaching.
“The fast pace of the city has been reflected in a very busy year for our Birmingham office so far – it is a source of pride for us that our clients arrive at our offices having walked through the buzzing Colmore District and that we have so many thriving restaurants and bars close by.”
