Birmingham-based, the Eureka Jazz Band offers a flexible approach – in terms of numbers and presentation style – to traditional Dixieland jazz. What remains constant, apart from the entertainment value, is the band’s devotion to the great popular songs of the 1920s, 30s and 40s. This performance is part of the Birmingham, Sandwell and Westside Jazz Festival 2019.

Formed in 1992, the Worcestershire-based six piece is making its fourth appearance at the Festival. Sauce City’s brand of traditional Dixieland has long proved popular throughout the Midlands. This performance is part of the Birmingham, Sandwell and Westside Jazz Festival 2019.
Join us from 12.30pm in the Cathedral Grounds for a free lunchtime Jazz performance from Tenement Jazz Band. Since the band’s formation in Edinburgh in January 2018 the Tenement Jazz Band has built an instant reputation for old-style New Orleans jazz played with youthful verve. Initially a six-piece, the band has now settled down to a five-piece, with the band’s founder, trombonist Patrick Darley, joined in the front line by fellow-alumni of Edinburgh University, Charles ‘Chuck’ Deerness and soprano saxist…
All abilities are very welcome. Route consists of canal paths, city running and the occasional geese, and the route is approximately two miles.
