Applications open as Festive market returns to Cathedral Grounds for 2022

After welcoming over a quarter of a million visitors in 2021, Christmas in Cathedral Square will return for 2022, bringing with it a range of both new and familiar vendors.
Launching in 2021, Christmas in Cathedral Square welcomed over 300,000 visitors in its first year, with the market providing a platform for more than 50 local businesses, producers and craftspeople to showcase their goods in the run up to Christmas. Attractions such as a helter-skelter and pop-up bar, Pigeon in the Park became firm favourites with visitors and daily live music performances from Luxury Live entertainment ensured everyone passing through was in the festive spirit.
Delivered in partnership with Birmingham City Council, Birmingham Cathedral and Danter Attractions Limited, Christmas in Cathedral Square will return to the grounds of Birmingham Cathedral between 16 November – 18 December 2022, offering a mixture of award-winning local craft, gift, food and drink stalls for visitors to peruse and sample.
Colmore BID and partners have now begun the search for vendors for this year’s market, with applications now open. We would like all traders to have a presence within the Midlands region but encourage all to apply.

Michele Wilby, CEO of Colmore BID, said: “We set out to make Christmas 2021 one to remember and judging from the feedback we had, Christmas in Cathedral Square accomplished this. The festive market was perhaps one of the most ambitious public events we’ve delivered as it transformed the grounds of Birmingham Cathedral into a bustling Christmas experience. After a challenging 18 months, Colmore Business District was once again full of life as people enjoyed the crafts, food, drink and live entertainment.
