Managing Director of Cubo Birmingham shortlisted for prestigious property awards

27 April 2022

Marc Brough, managing director of new Birmingham-based flex office provider Cubo, has been shortlisted for two awards at the UK’s most prestigious property awards.

Marc, who founded Cubo with wife Rebecca in 2020, has been shortlisted for the Young Property Personality of the Year and the Newcomer Award in Commercial Property at the 2022 Property Awards. He is the only individual to be shortlisted for two awards at this year’s awards.

The Young Property Personality of the Year award celebrates the rising stars of the property industry who demonstrate entrepreneurialism, tenacity, and vision to lead the industry in the coming years. The Newcomer Award recognises individuals like Marc who have launched their businesses within the last three years and have already made a significant impact in their respective industries.

Cubo, which opens next month at Two Chamberlain Square in Paradise Birmingham, is changing the face of the well-established managed workspace model, thanks to Marc’s ambition, vision, entrepreneurial flair, and extraordinary hard work.

It is rapidly establishing itself as the fastest growing provider of high-end flex office and co-working space in the Midlands and Yorkshire, delivering on ambitious growth plans despite the challenges faced by the pandemic.

Cubo also has a presence in Leeds, Derby, Nottingham, and Sheffield, with more locations set to be announced in the coming months.

The company provides an experience-led lifestyle offer to meet the changing needs of businesses – from hot desking to a designated desk, private office, or entire floor. Member benefits include meeting rooms, networking events, private booths, chill-out areas, and a free barista service.

As a result, Cubo is attracting an exciting mix of SMEs, tech companies and corporates looking for a world class environment where they can develop and thrive.

Earlier this month, award-winning business advisory and accountancy firm Cooper Parry announced that it is taking space at Cubo Birmingham, with more high-profile names set to be announced shortly.

Now in their 22nd year, the Property Awards are the UK’s most prestigious annual awards dedicated to the full spectrum of the commercial property industry.  The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on June 7 at Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Speaking about the 2022 Property Awards, Marc Brough, said:

“To be shortlisted in two categories at this year’s Property Awards alongside some of the property industry’s most high-profile young personalities is hugely gratifying and reflects Cubo’s growing reputation as an innovator in the serviced office sector.

“We have ambitious plans for more new workspaces in exciting locations, with representation in all leading provincial centres planned by 2025 and plans to take the brand internationally.”
