Citizens Advice Birmingham seek new trustees to help deliver strategic vision

17 October 2022

At a time when the services of this local charity are very much in demand, it is calling out to business professionals with strong strategic, employment/HR, financial, ICT and/or communications skills to join their board.

Citizens Advice Birmingham (CAB), provides advice and information on a wide range of matters, including benefits and debt advice, how to deal with the rising cost of living or coping with the additional costs of a cancer diagnosis.

Current CAB trustees bring a range of business skills and experience to the board and are a diverse group of senior professionals from the West Midlands. In a drive to broaden the reach of the charity, candidates from the local community are sought who have a passion for helping the CAB meet the rapidly increasing demands for help in these challenging times with free and independent advice and guidance.

A current member of the board is local entrepreneur, Sunny Gill, Founder and CEO of Silver Mountain, a Birmingham city centre based creative digital marketing and video production agency. Commenting on his appointment to the CAB board he said:

“Being part of the Citizens Advice Birmingham board of trustees has really opened my eyes to the vital service that CAB provides to people who need advice and guidance to tackle the many challenges they face in their lives. I am very proud of being able to use my skills and experience to further CAB’s aims to assist all who need support with good quality, independent advice.

On a personal level, I find my role as a trustee to be incredibly rewarding, working with my CAB trustee colleagues to help build the future direction of the charity.”

The closing date for applications is midday, Monday 7 November. If you are interested in finding out more, download a recruitment pack here or email, Abisola Latunji-Cockbill at hr@bcabs.org.uk
