Rapidly Growing Richborough Commercial Announces Two Hires

04 September 2023

Richborough Commercial, the rapidly growing commercial strategic land promotion company launched earlier this year, has made two new hires.

Alex Mortimore and Henry Wells have joined Richborough Commercial as Commercial Land Manager and Assistant Land & Planning Manager respectively.

Alex has moved from Mulberry Land where he was Strategic Land Buyer, and Henry recently graduated from the Royal Agricultral University, Cirencester.

Alex and Henry will support Richborough Commercial’s group director Nick Jones in bringing forward new commercial land opportunities to answer demand from developers and occupiers for quality, build-ready sites with planning permission in prime locations.

Parent company Richborough launched the commercial division in February 2023 following investment for its next growth phase from Terra Firma’s Principal Capital Group, supported by Partners Group and the Hands Family Office.

Nick Jones said: “Since our launch just six months ago, Richborough Commercial is already promoting land capable of delivering over 10 million sq ft of floorspace for prime Industrial & Logistics space as well as employment, retail, and mixed-use developments.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Alex and Henry on board to help further unlock Richborough Commercial’s potential across the country while delivering our very best service to clients.”

Alex Mortimore added: “It’s such an exciting time to join Richborough with the new venture into commercial land promotion and the growth ambitions for the division. The business advocates an exemplary and proactive approach to land promotion, which I’m sure will deliver great success on the commercial projects. I’m thrilled to take this opportunity to join the team.”

Henry Wells added: “I am delighted to be joining Richborough, who are already recognised as one of the major UK land promoters in the residential sector. Now with their commercial team, I look forward to assisting in growing this area of the business and seeing landowners benefit from the established advantages of land promotion in the commercial sector.”

Richborough Commercial’s current projects include a 200-acre Greenbelt site at junction 12 of the M6 in Staffordshire, with potential for 2.5 million sq. ft of Industrial & Logistics(I&L) space, and a strategically located site capable of some 750,00 sq ft at Junction 9 of the M42.
