Oktoberfest 2024: Albert’s Schloss leads Birmingham into two-week Bavarian extravaganza

31 July 2024

ALBERT’S SCHLOSS IS BRINGING BAVARIAN BIER-FUELED FUN, FOOD-FILLED CLASSICS AND ROUND-THE-CLOCK REVELRY TO THE HEART OF BIRMINGHAM.

Prepare to get your oompah on, Birmingham! Albert’s Schloss, the ultimate purveyor of Bavarian bliss, is bringing a whirlwind of celebrations to Birmingham this September for Oktoberfest (21st September – 6th October). The best bit? No tickets, no entry fee and no booking required. The showtime entertainment that Schloss is so well known for is all included – everyone is willkommen!

Revellers are invited to enjoy an array of programmes throughout the 16 days, from Keg Tapping and Sausage Eating to the must-see spectacle of eclectic entertainment and best dressed competitions!

It wouldn’t be Oktoberfest without the bier to wash it down and luckily, Albert’s Schloss is known for its beer credentials. Schloss will of course be serving Munich’s ‘Big Six’; it’s the only venue in Birmingham to serve all six of the legitimate Oktoberfest beers synonymous with the festival. The classic line-up includes Höfbrauhaus, Löwenbräu, Augustinerbräu, Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr and Spaten-Franziskaner.

Away from traditional Oktoberfest beers, adorning the main bar are stunning polished copper tanks, offering guests fresh, unpasteurised Pilsner Urquell, delivered direct from the brewery in Pilsen each week. Guests can even ‘Push For Pilsner’ using special on table buttons to order a foaming pint.

Pairing perfectly with your steins of bier, the Cook Haus will be offering Oktoberfest classics; from crispy Bavarian Schweinshaxe pork knuckle, a whole section dedicated to Schnitzels and the traditional Bratwurst. There’s also a vegetarian Halloumi Schnitzel burger, and vegan wursts on offer.

And when Albert says ‘showtime’, he means it. There will be Oktoberfest entertainment every day, as well as very special line-up on the launch day, including:

  • Keg Tapping: The festivities kick off with a traditional keg tapping ceremony, officially marking the start of the Oktoberfest celebrations.
  • Sausage Eating Contest: Test your appetite and speed in a fun and competitive Bratwurst eating contest.
  • Oompah Brass Band: Enjoy the lively and traditional tunes of an Oompah band, setting the perfect Oktoberfest atmosphere, playing Ein Prosit and other classics.
  • Oktoberfest Games: Participate in classic Oktoberfest games such as Ring & Hook, Best Dressed, Stein holding, and Hat Toss, interspersed between musical sets
  • Haus Band: The resident Haus band will keep the party going with vibrant performances throughout the evening.

So, charge your steins, hold on to your Lederhosen and join us for what Albert’s Schloss does best, Oktoberfest. Prost!
