Six By Nico Announces First Ever ‘Versus’ Series

25 July 2024

The “versus” concept will see two new menus, Guilty Pleasures and Tokyo, go head-to-head for 6-weeks starting on Monday 12th August, from £42 per person.

Six by Nico, the innovative dining experience which rotates its menu every six weeks, has announced an exciting new “versus” series for the next rotation.

For the first time, Six by Nico is running two different menus, in consecutive 3-week blocks, asking customers to choose between the two when making their reservations. Self-proclaimed “dreamers” are invited to revel in the indulgent Guilty Pleasures menu, while “adventurers” can enjoy the latest menu in the restaurant’s popular destination series, Tokyo.

This new series promises a more tailored dining experience, with customers now able to choose between two tasting menus over the six-week period. Both menus will run consecutively for three weeks at a time, with Guilty Pleasures cooking from 12 August to 1 September, followed immediately by Tokyo, from the 2 September to 22 September.

The Guilty Pleasures menu is designed to evoke feelings of indulgence and delight, with a tasting menu which offers a unique take on the comfort dishes that we all secretly enjoy. Featured dishes are the Breakfast Muffin – sausage meat bon bon with cheddar royale and truffle emulsion, Loaded Potato Skin – crispy potato terrine with smoked bacon jam, potato & creme fraiche foam, Cheeseburger & Chips –  beef tartare with burger sauce, dill pickle, parmesan and crispy shoestring, a “Fish Finger Butty” with coalfish, sauce gribiche, toasted brioche, tomato compote, dill emulsion and crispy mussels, and the Nico Fried Chicken – crispy chicken thigh, NFC crumb, black garlic emulsion, charred corn and gravy. For dessert the Warm Cookie Dough, a hazelnut & chocolate cookie, caramel ganache, warm cookie dough, praline ice cream and raspberry sauce.

The Toyko menu is a true representation of Six By Nico’s unique curation of affordable tasting menus and how its dining concept has evolved over time. Tokyo transformed the way the restaurant’s chefs developed new menus after experiencing firsthand the simple yet impactful dishes of the city, along with new cooking techniques for traditional Japanese dishes.

Taking inspiration from the diverse range of dishes that Japan has to offer, the menu will take diners on a culinary adventure and transport them to the stunning Sakura tree-lined streets of Tokyo and returns by popular demand having scored 4.9 by the restaurant’s guests when it was first concepted in 2023. The six-course tasting menu combines elements of both traditional and modern Japanese cuisine to provide guests with an authentic experience which showcases the assortment of flavours that the city has to offer.

Andrew Temple, Chief Creative Officer commented on the menu, “This is a completely new concept for Six by Nico. While our previous menus have focused either on a concept or a destination for the full six weeks, this time we wanted to give our audience the chance to decide whether they are team Dreamer or team Adventurer – and to pick the menu that most suits them. We can’t wait to see what our customers decide!”
