Holiday Hunger Scheme
Colmore Business District (BID) works closely with the Ladywood Community Project on a number of initiatives.
The Ladywood Community Project help with prevention or relief of families in poverty or financial hardship, by providing items, services, advice and signposting to agencies and organisations also helping with the isolation and stress that poverty brings.
The team operate a number of initiatives during the summer including help with uniforms, seaside trips and activities. These run alongside their crisis help and work with our other partners.
Their main project for the summer is the Holiday Hunger Scheme. The team have always recognised that summer months are very stressful for parents. During school terms, many of the children in the Ladywood area have access to free school meals which helps to keep them healthy. There is no extra help during the long summer break.
The current increase in the cost of living is creating even more pressure on families. Our donations are needed now more than ever.
The Holiday Hunger Scheme by the Ladywood Community Project will help families most in need to feed their children across the summer holidays. We have raised some funds towards this initiative from Community Games and are asking our wonderful business community to come together in support of this worthy cause.
The Ladywood Community Project have a £10,000 target this year, in which they aim to give £100 supermarket vouchers to 100 families. Last year, with our support, the team we were able to help 98 families.
All donation amounts, large or small, are welcome. Please help us in any way you can via our dedicated JustGiving page.
