Counter Terrorism PROTECT Briefing

15 June 2021
14:00 - 15:00

The Prime Minister’s roadmap out of lockdown sets out plans for the further easing of COVID restrictions, giving people the opportunity to enjoy both indoor and outdoor hospitality and attend larger events again. We want the public to stay safe whilst they make the most of being out and about again this Summer.

Whilst understandably terrorism hasn’t been top of the agenda for many this past year, the threat of terrorism in the UK has not gone away and remains at substantial, meaning an attack is likely.

The best defence against the terrorist threat is a collective community effort – where police, security staff, businesses and the public come together to minimise the chance of attack. We are encouraging communities, the public and businesses across the country to help the police tackle terrorism and save lives by remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activity.

Colmore BID is working with the region’s leading counter terrorism specialists to provide this online safety event at 2pm on Tuesday 15th June 2021 for the benefit of our BID businesses.

This event is primarily aimed at those with a general responsibility for management and security matters, including:

  • building and venue managers or supervisors
  • welcome hosts and front of house staff
  • security officers

This event is free to attend but places are limited and must be booked in advance through Eventbrite.
