Ladywood Christmas Breakfast with Santa
We’re excited for the third year running to partner with The Ladywood Community Project to bring festive cheer to families in need!
The Ladywood Community Project has helped families for over 33 years. Their focus is to help families on low income or in financial hardship. They work towards ensuring that these individuals do not feel isolated. They provide assistance with a number of things to support day-to-day life for these families.
The numbers of children affected has rocketed in under a decade, with more kids feeling the pain of poverty today in the city than at any time since modern records began. The rise is huge – from 27% of children in poverty in 2015 to 46% today.
Over the last two years (2022 and 2023), with the help of Dishoom, we created a magical experience for 18 children, complete with a visit from Santa! Thanks to your donations we were able to gift a small toy and warm item of clothing to each child!
This year, we’re continuing the tradition to host a special Christmas breakfast event for children with support from Dishoom & Albert’s Schloss!
Join our ‘Sponsor a Child with a Gift’ initiative and make a child’s Christmas brighter!
This would mean you or your company would provide the gifts for a child (or more than one) for Christmas.
Children are handpicked by the Ladywood Community Project as those most in need. These children are unlikely to have a Christmas experience at home and many are living in temporary accommodation.
We will provide you with the gender and age, we would then ask that you provide a gift that is new and suitable for their age group, along with a warm item of clothing, this could be warm pyjamas or a hat. We suggest a budget of £20 – £40 to ensure every child feels equally special (we would like to keep this so that each child feels they are treated equally, especially with some being from the same household). We need gifts by 29th November.
“We witness the profound difference this Breakfast with Santa event makes to families struggling with poverty. For the children, it’s more than just a moment of festive joy — it’s a reminder that they are seen, valued, and supported. For their families, it’s a lifeline that offers hope and relief in challenging times. Support like this strengthens the bonds of community and reminds us all that together, we can build brighter futures for these children.” – Ladywood Community Project.
