Colmore Business District launches BID4 consultation document
16 January 2023
As one of the UK’s top Business Improvement Districts, we have started consulting levy paying businesses, ahead of our ballot in September for our fourth five-year term. Businesses in our District will be sent ballot papers late September giving them the opportunity to vote on the services that we propose in our BID4 Business Plan.
More details can be found here in our consultation document. The consultation period for feedback from levy paying businesses on this document will continue until March 2023.
The consultation document delves into seven key areas that we are committing to improve, which are:
- Create a greener, more attractive business District
- Create a more sustainable District
- Develop a creative and cultural District
- Promote an enjoyable District
- Develop a safe and secure business District
- Build and grow our business community
- Work collaboratively and pursue opportunities to improve the District and the city core.
Through our BID, local businesses will be investing £6.5 million over a 5-year period towards the improvement of the area to help to achieve ambitions, including those that have been mapped out in our BID4 consultation document.
Since our establishment in 2009, we have worked to create a thriving, award-winning business community for its stakeholders.
Nicola Fleet-Milne is the Chair of our Board of Directors. She is supported by a Board of 14 Directors representing businesses and public sector organisations across the District.
Following the opening of the consultation, we will now reach out to our levy payers to allow them to contribute to refining the business plan and to raise any queries they might have.
Nicola Fleet-Milne, Chair, Colmore BID commented:
“We are thrilled to announce the launch of our BID4 Consultation Document and are really looking forward to hearing feedback on our future ambitions from our levy paying businesses. The seven strategic ambitions that we have detailed in our BID4 consultation document are instrumental to ensuring that we continue to develop a flourishing and progressive business District.”
