Positive impact: Ampa releases latest impact report

B-Corporation-accredited legal and professional services group Ampa has published a detailed impact report for the second-year running, showcasing the group’s progress in 2023 as well as plans for the future.

Committing to more than 30 ongoing responsible business pledges across people, planet and communities, the group delivered on more than 60% of its commitments in the year 2023, with work on the remaining long-term goals underway.

After achieving B-Corporation accreditation as part of its responsible business journey in January 2023, Ampa and its brands have embraced and engaged with the B Corp community, advocating the merits of the accreditation to stakeholders and sharing best practice.

Invested in vibrant places and communities, Ampa played a key role in flagship national gathering Anthropy – chairing the Vibrant Places Alliance at the 2023 conference and developing a Vibrant Places report off the back of discussions and research.

For the fourth-year running, Ampa has reported and offset carbon emissions for scopes 1, 2 and 3 (excluding suppliers).

Other key achievements from the group in the past 12 months, include:

  • Establishing nine inclusion groups across the business with more than 180 participants: Amplify (LGBTQ+), Embrace (physical and mental disabilities), Thrive (diverse culture and ethnicity), Muslim Network, Sikh Network, Parents, Carers, Menopause and Wellbeing, all supported by the More in Common Committee. The inclusion groups ran events and meetings throughout 2023, engaging people from across the group.
  • Increasing female membership by 3% to 38% (SRA equity partners equivalent is 32%) in 2023.
  • Kicking off work with Flair to run our first racial awareness and bias survey. Results are informing our race action plan for 2024/25.
  • Engaging more than 40 responsible business leads and champions in office hubs across the UK who led on local charity partner relationships for fundraising and volunteering. Examples include partnerships with the Whitechapel Mission (London office hub partner), Marie Curie Hospice West Midlands (Solihull office hub partner) and Autism West Midlands (Nottingham office hub partner).

Looking ahead to the next 12 months, Ampa will continue prioritising social mobility across the group, working with newly-appointed accountable members for social mobility and early talent experts to ensure the group provides ample opportunities through recruitment and community action.
