City Centre Movement and Access strategy Tranche 2 Consultation

18 October 2024

The upcoming public consultation on the City Centre Movement and Access (CCMA) Strategy Tranche 2 led by the Transport and Connectivity service area at Birmingham City Council will go live on Wednesday 16 October and will remain open for responses until Monday 18 November 2024.

The CCMA project proposes to bring about interventions in line with the Birmingham Transport Plan principles of transforming the city centre and improving the environment. Birmingham City Council consulted on CCMA Tranche 1 proposals earlier in the year, in August 2024.

The team are now consulting on CCMA Tranche 2, which focuses on proposals on Broad Street and the A38 Weaving sections. Please visit the Birmingham Be Heard website for further details about the proposals and to respond to the online survey: https://www.birminghambeheard.org.uk/bcc/ccma-2

A public drop-in session will be taking place on Wednesday 23 October at the Council House (Ground Floor, Room 2, Victoria Square, Birmingham B1 1BB) at 3pm until 6pm. Here, there will be plans of the proposals, as well as the opportunity to speak with the project team. Further details can be found on the Birmingham Be Heard website.

Following the consultation, designs will be updated and the project will move into the next phase. It is hoped that some of the interventions proposed across the strategy can be implemented over the next 18 months or so, and further consultations will take place as the schemes develop.

If you would like any further information or to discuss the project directly, please email connected@birmingham.gov.uk.
