Colmore BID becomes official member of ‘Stamp Out Spiking’

25 June 2025

We are proud to announce that Colmore Business District (BID) is now an official member of Stamp Out Spiking, the UK’s leading charity dedicated to ending drink spiking through education, prevention and support.

This partnership reinforces our long-standing commitment to public safety and proactive intervention. We already champion safety initiatives such as Ask for Angela, promote Licensing SAVI-accredited venues, and deliver targeted seasonal messaging to help individuals stay safe during days and nights out, and at major events.

“Joining Stamp Out Spiking is a natural extension of the work we already do to protect our communities,” said Paul Street, Colmore BID’s Safe & Sound Project Manager. “We’re proud to stand alongside a network of organisations that are making real change and giving a voice to those affected by spiking. Together, we can raise awareness, improve safety standards, and ensure people feel confident and supported wherever they go.”

Stamp Out Spiking was founded by Dawn Dines, who has spent over 20 years campaigning to make drink spiking a clearly defined criminal offence and to support victims through education and systematic reform. The charity delivers specialist training, runs national awareness campaigns, and work closely with venues and authorities to improve safety on the ground.

“Stamp Out Spiking is the voice of many who are still coming to terms with what has happened to them,” said Dawn Dines. “We’re thrilled to welcome Colmore BID as a member. Their dedication to seasonal safety, venue accreditation, and public awareness makes them a powerful ally in our mission to stamp out spiking for good.”

As members, we will continue to expand our efforts, share resources, and collaborate on impactful campaigns that challenge myths, empower communities, and make drink spiking impossible to ignore.

Dawn will be featured as a guest speaker at Colmore BID’s bi-monthly networking event, taking place on Thursday 10 July in Birmingham. To secure your place, visit https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/network-drink-tickets-1416148350839?aff=oddtdtcreator.
