Colmore BID Joins Birmingham Civic Society, Strengthening Civic Engagement in the City Centre
29 July 2025
Colmore Business Improvement District (Colmore BID) has officially become a member of the Birmingham Civic Society, marking a significant step in its commitment to civic engagement and urban enhancement in the heart of Birmingham.
The move aligns with Colmore BID’s ongoing mission to foster cultural vibrancy, improve public spaces, and support the city’s business community.
Michele Wilby, Colmore BID’s CEO, commented on the partnership: “Joining the Birmingham Civic Society is a natural extension of our work to make Birmingham a better place to live, work, and visit. We’re proud to stand alongside an organisation that shares our values of heritage, community, and progress.”
The Birmingham Civic Society, known for its dedication to preserving the city’s heritage and promoting civic pride, welcomed Colmore BID’s membership.
Matthew Vaughan, Trustee for the Society said “We are delighted that Colmore BID have become members, and they will bring a dynamic and forward-thinking perspective to our work and give us greater connection with the many businesses and people who work in this wonderful part of the city. Their investment in Birmingham’s public realm and cultural life makes them a valuable partner in shaping the city’s future.”
This collaboration is expected to open new avenues for joint initiatives, including heritage walks, public art projects, and community engagement events. For Colmore BID, it also reinforces its role as a key stakeholder in Birmingham’s civic and cultural development.
Michele Wilby added: “This partnership is not just symbolic—it’s a practical step toward deeper collaboration across sectors. We look forward to working with the Civic Society to amplify the voices of our businesses and contribute meaningfully to Birmingham’s evolution.”
