UK Government announce a move to the Delay Phase to tackle COVID-19 Coronavirus
12 March 2020
The UK Government has announced that it has moved to the Delay Phase of it’s 4 point plan to tackle COVID-19 Coronavirus. The advice from Public Health England is for those who display symptoms of the virus to Self-Isolate for 7 days. The symptoms are either:
-
- A high temperature, or
- A new continuous cough
This is to help reduce the risk of infection of others.
People displaying symptoms should not go to GP surgeries, pharmacies or hospitals. Advice can be obtained from calling NHS 111. If you need to Self-Isolate, you do not need to inform NHS 111.
A guide to staying at home has been produced. You can access a copy of this here
Entering the Delay Phase is a key indicator that businesses need to consider how they will continue to operate during this period. Testing and preparedness will need to be key considerations for businesses in the coming weeks.
