DLA Piper remains ambitious in the Midlands as it moves to new office

In a vote of confidence in the region, DLA Piper is continuing to focus on growth in Birmingham as it prepares for its move to new offices in the prestigious new Two Chamberlain Square later this year.
“Our corporate team has long been a powerhouse of our Birmingham office and we see significant growth in the team over the coming years. Therefore, I am delighted to announce that Robert Newman has this been promoted to partner with effect from 1 May 2020.” Birmingham Managing Partner, Trevor Ivory, announced.
Robert joined DLA Piper in 2014 and his practice focuses on equity capital markets, regularly advising clients on IPOs, secondary fundraisings, compliance and ESG issues. He advises on domestic and cross-border M&A, private equity and venture capital/VC investments, corporate reorganisations and joint ventures. In addition, Robert heads up the Life Sciences sector in Birmingham and is a member of the London Stock Exchange’s Midlands Regional Advisory Group.

In a further sign of its continuing investment in the region, DLA Piper has also announced the promotion six of its Birmingham-based lawyers to the positions of legal director and senior associate. The newly promoted lawyers are: Chloe Barker (global trade and government affairs), Deborah Brown (restructuring) and Gemma Lawrence (finance) (all legal directors) and Daniel Cowley (technology), Laura Howard (finance) and Amber Nixon (real estate) (all senior associates).
