19 May 2020
Birmingham and Channel Islands communications consultancy, Liquid has been re-appointed to raise the profile of the Westfield Health British Transplant Games and awareness of the importance of organ donation for a further three years.
The British Transplant Games, the flagship event of charity Transplant Sport, is an annual event that celebrates the life-saving benefits of transplantation and promotes leading an active lifestyle post-transplant. With the laws around organ donation due to change on 20 May 2020, it has become more important than ever for people to understand the importance of sharing their wishes with loved ones.
Liquid was first appointed in 2018 by Games organisers MLS Contracts and Transplant Sport, to manage PR and communications around the Games as they took place in Birmingham. The agency was retained to manage the 2019 Games in Newport, South Wales and the 2020 Games in Coventry, it has since been retained to deliver Games campaigns for 2021 in Leeds, as well as further events in 2022 and 2023.
Since 2018, Liquid has won a number of industry awards for its work on the British Transplant Games including PRCA Midlands’ Charity/Not for Profit Award and CIPR Midlands’ Best Healthcare Campaign. Liquid has also been shortlisted in national award programmes including CIPR Excellence, PRCA National Awards and the PRmoment Awards.
Elisabeth Lewis-Jones, Liquid’s CEO said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with MLS Contracts and Transplant Sport, especially to promote a topic as significant as organ donation. The Liquid team is extremely proud of the results we have achieved in the last two years. We’re very much looking forward to using our creativity, and the incredible athlete stories that we have collected, to continue spreading these important messages for the next three years.”
The British Transplant Games 2021 will take place in venues across Leeds in July.
