Outdoor summer events programme revealed

Place Marketing and Hospitality have been busy working on a Summer of Fun for the Colmore Business District.

We are excited to announce Colmore Food Market, which will be taking place from July in the Cathedral Grounds. We have been working with Sketts Market to bring a high quality food market to the District.

The dates of the markets are:

Friday 30 and Saturday 31 July
Friday 27 August
Friday 24 and Saturday 25 September

This Spring, we officially launched our digital Area Guide, which is a brilliant tool to use for exploring the District’s fantastic leisure and hospitality offering. You can read and download the Area Guide for free here.

In 2020 we created short film to celebrate our leisure and hospitality sector, however due to the pandemic and subsequent temporary closure of the sector, the film was not released. As venues have now reopened, we have released the video which has had fantastic feedback not only from the venues, but also visitors. If you haven’t seen the video, you can watch it here.

Collaboration has been a key theme during lockdown. During the second lockdown, we worked with the other four city centre BIDs to develop and launch the Cheers to Hospitality campaign. The campaign was created to celebrate the hospitality offering of each District, with the aim of encouraging people back into the city to support and spend money. You may have noticed that our website is looking a little different. Over the past few months, we’ve given it a complete overhaul, updating the design and launching a number of new features, such as an interactive map and business support hub. Our website is often the first point of call for information for many people working and visiting the District, so it’s important that it supports the needs of users. The spring edition of Colmore Life is now live and features articles on The Grand Hotel, Summer in the Square, Parklets and an interview with Inspector Chris Harrison. You can pick up the digital copy right here. With Spring in the bag, we’re already working on the summer edition, which will be out in early July.
