Aon announces senior promotion in Birmingham office to support UK renewable energy sector

Aon plc, a leading global professional services firm, today announced that Birmingham-based Lyndsay Cole has been promoted to client director within its Commercial Risk team as it continues to build its capability for clients within the waste management and renewable energy sectors.

Lyndsay has over two decades of experience in the insurance industry and has spent the past 12 years with Aon. During this time, she has gained experience across a broad range of client industries including education, manufacturing and financial services, and has also gained her CII Diploma.

She is now supporting clients in the waste sector including one of the UK’s leading waste-to-energy companies and provides valuable insight which enables them to make better informed decisions. In this new role, Lyndsay collaborates closely with Aon colleagues in Birmingham and across the business, notably those in the energy transition team supporting clients with innovative risk solutions.

Lyndsay Cole said: “Working with clients that are committed to being at the forefront of transforming the waste sector so that it drives the creation of a net zero economy is truly fascinating.

“I enjoy nothing more than getting my teeth into complex issues and the more fast-paced the sectors I support clients in, the better. That’s certainly the case with the waste-to-energy sector and working with my Aon colleagues across the business allows me to expand my specialist knowledge so that I can better serve clients.”

Alongside her work in the waste sector, Lyndsay also supports clients in the banking industry which again allows her to team-up with colleagues throughout the business.

Chris Barley, head of office for Commercial Risk at Aon in Birmingham, said: “Lyndsay thoroughly deserves this promotion to client director. She works hard to gain a detailed understanding of clients’ needs and also thrives on working with colleagues across our business to bring different skills-sets together.

“Her work for clients within the waste-to-energy sector is particularly notable as it highlights her commitment to quickly grasping the needs of businesses in sectors that are developing at pace. I don’t doubt as more businesses within the waste and renewables industry require Aon’s support, that Lyndsay will be an integral part of how we can help them.”
