Colmore BID Ballot Results
Colmore BID Ballot Process and Results
Colmore BID is a not-for-profit, democratically elected company representing the business community within the Colmore Business District. The BID is funded by a levy on businesses within the district and operates in five-year terms, each subject to a renewal ballot in which eligible businesses vote on whether the BID should continue.
Here’s a detailed look at the ballot process and results over the years:
What is the BID Ballot?
The BID ballot is a democratic process that ensures businesses have their say in determining the continuation of the BID. Every five years, eligible businesses within the BID area are invited to vote. For the BID to be renewed, two key conditions must be met:
- More than 50% of businesses voting must be in favour.
- Those businesses must also represent more than 50% of the total rateable value of all votes cast.
The process is transparent and overseen by an independent body to ensure fairness and accuracy.
