Counter Terrorism
Terrorism is a major threat for businesses. Terrorist groups may seek to cause harm to the economy as a whole by attacking business premises or they may seek to attack specific businesses to advance their political agendas.
Colmore BID is committed to keep everyone who works, visits or passes through the Colmore Business District as safe as possible. We fully support and signpost businesses to the new online information sharing platform ‘Protect UK’, which provides the latest threat guidance, advice and online learning to equip businesses with the knowledge and confidence to help tackle threats of terrorism.
Colmore BID regularly works in partnership with Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands to provide businesses with opportunities to participate in awareness raising workshops and table-top exercises.
Colmore BID fully supports the ‘Action Counters Terrorism’ national Counter Terrorism Policing campaign which educates the public about how to spot and report suspicious activity. The campaign encourages people to ACT early if they are concerned, and provides an online tool for people to report suspicious activity in confidence.
