Birmingham Heritage Week 2025

12 - 21 September 2025
Birmingham, UK

Colmore Business District and the City Curator is proud to be supporting and taking part in Birmingham Heritage Week 2025, a vibrant 10-day city-wide festival celebrating the rich and diverse history of Birmingham. Running from Friday 12 September – Sunday 21 September, the festival invites everyone to explore and (re)discover the city through an exciting range of heritage events.

Birmingham Heritage Week showcases the city’s unique cultural and industrial legacy, with over 100 Birmingham-based organisations and societies contributing their time and passion. Thousands of hours from dedicated staff and volunteers go into making this celebration possible, offering a rare opportunity to see behind the scenes of some of Birmingham’s most iconic – and hidden – places.

From talks, walks, and workshops, to outdoor performances, building tours, and open days, the festival promises something for everyone. Visitors can also enjoy more active offerings such as heritage-themed cycling and running tours, discovering the stories etched into the city’s streets and green spaces.

During the festival, venues across Birmingham will open their doors to the public – some for the very first time – giving residents and visitors alike the chance to explore churches, cathedrals, mosques, factories, cemeteries, canal networks, museums, conservation areas, and more.

Whether you’re delving into Birmingham’s civic history, uncovering local architectural gems, or simply curious about what’s on your doorstep, Birmingham Heritage Week is a wonderful opportunity to be inspired and surprised by the heritage around you.
