Inclusive Tourism Training Workshop

Birmingham’s tourism businesses are invited to attend a free, interactive “Inclusive Tourism” training session aimed at helping organisations improve accessibility for all visitors, both online and in person. This workshop is ideal for businesses seeking to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Introduction to Inclusive Tourism: An overview of inclusive tourism, including key insights into accessible tourism and supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Accessible Information & Marketing: Practical guidance on creating accessible pre-visit information and marketing materials that resonate with a diverse audience.
  • Developing an Accessibility Guide: Tips for crafting an effective accessibility guide, including advice on AccessAble’s detailed guides.
  • Providing an Inclusive Welcome: Techniques for enhancing visitor experiences and ensuring inclusivity.
  • Building an Inclusive Workplace: Best practices for fostering a supportive, accessible work environment for all employees.

Delivered by Mima’s team of access consultants, the session will provide practical advice and hands-on activities. Participants will also have the opportunity to register for personalised, 1:1 support following the session. This project is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to encourage accessibility and inclusivity in tourism.

Exclusive Discounts for Access Guides

VisitEngland is offering discounts for tourism businesses to develop quality-assured accessibility information. Available discounts include:

  • Small Businesses: Eligibility for a Detailed Access Guide for only £1 + VAT.
  • Guided and Onsite Assessments: 75% off Guided Assessments and 50% off Onsite Assessments, with a maximum discount value of £500 each.

All Detailed Access Guides created through this program will be published on AccessAble’s website, which receives over 6 million visitors annually.
