More public art on the horizon

As we continue down the Government’s roadmap to re-opening the country, the BID has been busy further enhancing the public realm within the District. While work on larger projects such as Colmore Row East and Cornwall Street proceeds (read more about those projects here), behind the scenes we’ve been preparing for the start of work on our public art installation on Livery Street. Having had to delay the project due to Covid-19, work will commence on the project this summer. With it being on our agenda for a few years now, we can’t wait to see the final design on such a large scale.

This isn’t the only artwork that’s going into the District though. With a further two parklets now located on Church Street, we have begun conversations with Birmingham City University’s School of Art and are looking to invite students to submit designs for the artworks to adorn the new parklets. This coupled with the work that we are doing on our Green Strategy, more details of which will be released soon, the District is soon to be bursting with even more colour and vibrancy.

We’re always keen to hear of new ways to make Colmore Business District an outstanding place, so if you have an idea, please do get in contact.
