Christmas in Cathedral Square – Week Two

26 October 2022

We’re heading ever closer to Christmas in Cathedral Square.  In this post, we’re looking at our second week of traders to help you plan your trip.

We’ll be joined by Draw My City – the lockdown venture started by ex-Birmingham Post editor, Stacey Barnfield.  As well as drawings of classic Birmingham locations like Snobs and the Rotunda, he is the creator of the popular Birmingham colour palette (other palettes are available!), which is currently on display in Grand Central Station.  If you want a souvenir of the city – make sure you pay a visit!

However, if you prefer a less urban edge to your art, we have Lillput Arts and Crafts, created by local artist Phoebe Devenney and inspired by all things wild and magical.  And to really get back to nature, visit Woody Things, who handmade gifts for home and garden are all crafted from reclaimed wood.

Our arts and crafts are inspired by the city’s industrial heritage this week.  The Cluttery (who will also trade with us in week one) use laser cutting technology to create a range of jewellery in different materials.  Swapping out from Quartermasters, we’ll also be joined by a collective of design and engineering students from Aston University who have create a range of crafts including toys and jewellery.  Now is your chance to buy from the great designers of the future!

Food and Drink?  We’ve got you covered, of course.  Birmingham’s newest wine bar, Vinoteca will be on hand with wines to take home to your table.  However, if you’re looking for a tipple whilst on site, boutique cocktail lounge The Pineapple Club will have drinks to enjoy throughout your visit.  Why not enjoy a real street food treat from Birmingham based experts Chatty Patty Street Food, who serve incredible fried chicken and burgers.  And if you have a sweet tooth, we’ll be joined by Yum Sweet Treats.  You can take their gooey brownies home with you – if you can make them last that long…

And of course, we’ll have our regular food and drink vendors, plus a few traders from across the rest of the market.  Click here for the full list of week two traders!
