Local businesses brings festive joy to Ladywood’s children through Colmore BID initiative

09 December 2024

This festive season, the Colmore Business District community has come together in a heartwarming display of generosity, kindness, and the true spirit of Christmas.

Thanks to the incredible support of our local businesses, the “Sponsor a Child” initiative has been a resounding success, bringing joy and smiles to children who needed it the most.

With contributions and hosting support from local businesses, the children were treated to an unforgettable day of festive cheer.

A Festive Treat for Ladywood’s Children
The celebrations culminated in a magical “Breakfast with Santa” event, hosted across two iconic venues in Colmore Business District – Dishoom and Albert’s Schloss. Both establishments opened their doors and hearts, creating a welcoming and festive environment for the children.

At Dishoom, children began their morning with story time from the enchanting presence of Santa Claus himself. Over at Albert’s Schloss, the festive spirit continued with hot chocolate in a setting that sparkled with Christmas magic.

A Special Thanks to Contributors
In addition to the festive breakfasts, every child walked away with a special gift, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and individuals who contributed to the cause.

Local businesses included Hays, Berkeley Groups brand St Joseph’s Homes and Alberts Schloss. From warm pyjamas to toys, each gift was carefully selected to light up a child’s face and remind them that they are valued and loved.

Kelsey Dwyer, Partnerships and Events Manger at Colmore BID said: “This initiative is a testament to the power of the Colmore BID community. We couldn’t have done this without the incredible support from local businesses like Dishoom, Albert’s Schloss, Hays, and St Joseph’s Homes. Their generosity has brought joy to so many children this Christmas. It’s been heartwarming to see the smiles on their faces and to know that we’ve made a difference together.”

The event also served as a reminder of the importance of businesses supporting their local communities. In a year that has been challenging for so many, the willingness of these businesses to step up and contribute has shown just how strong and resilient the Ladywood community truly is.

On behalf of the Ladywood community, thank you for making this festive season one to remember.
