EGL implements growth plans with new property litigation lawyer

Expanding law firm, Emms Gilmore Liberson (EGL), has further strengthened its property litigation division with the appointment of a new senior hire.
Perveen Kaur Dhami joins the Birmingham-based practice as associate director from Anthony Collins Solicitors. She will work alongside partner Martyn Liberson in developing the law firm’s growing national and international property litigation client base.
A member of the Property Litigation Association, Perveen has more than 12 years’ experience in dealing with property disputes for clients in a range of sectors, including major high street retailers, developers, investors, social housing associations, charities and local authorities.
Perveen has previously held positions at international law firms, Gowling WLG and Squire Patton Boggs, where she worked for almost 15 years. She is a trustee at Victoria Academies Trust.
Perveen said: “I’m really pleased to be joining EGL as part of its renowned property litigation team. This firm is unique in that it attracts the kind of high quality clients that are often only seen at national and global firms, but its consultative and values-led approach hits the right note with clients and very much sets it apart from its competitors. EGL has continued to grow consistently since its formation and I’m excited to be part of its future.”
Martyn Liberson, partner at EGL, said: “Perveen is a highly skilled and trained lawyer who has often been described by her clients as ‘pragmatic and efficient’ in finding the best solution. She has experience across a range of complex property disputes which complements our hugely talented property litigation team. Having spent the majority of her career working at global law firms, is typical of the calibre of specialist lawyers we employ. This is a firm with real strength and depth. The vast majority of the instructions on which we act bring us daily into opposition with global and national firms. Perveen’s appointment, gives us further opportunity to develop and service our rapidly expanding client base locally, nationally and overseas.”
EGL enjoys a national reputation as being one of the go-to property litigation practices outside London, from where half of its work is generated. The law firm recently announced a double appointment to its property litigation division in the shape of University of Law Birmingham graduate, Thomas Walsh, as an associate solicitor and specialist property litigation lawyer, Paul Pinder, who joined as director from Pinsent Masons.
EGL is ranked highly by leading law publication Legal 500 for its corporate and commercial, licensing, commercial litigation, commercial property, tax and probate and property litigation services.
