Help visitors discover your business and events during Birmingham 2022, the Commonwealth Games and beyond
07 December 2021
Tourist attractions, cultural venues, food and drink businesses and independent retailers are invited to join a new network that will allow visitors to the West Midlands to easily search for things to do based on their location and interests. The network is free to join and is designed to encourage visitors to stay longer, experience more and make the most of their time in the destination.
WHAT IS IT?
With the expected increase in visitors for the Commonwealth Games and the Birmingham 2022 Festival, West Midlands Growth Company and CT Consults have developed a new listings platform called the Digital Visitor Information Network (DVIN) which will go live in in the new year. You can upload your events and venue listings, in order to have them hosted on the Visit Birmingham website, and shortly on other destination websites across the West Midlands.
DVIN is funded as part of the Business and Tourism Programme to support and enhance the visitor experience around the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and leave a lasting legacy.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The DVIN will allow partners to submit and update their event and venue information via a web portal or automated feeds; consolidate listings from across the West Midlands on a single, centrally-managed database; make listings from across the region accessible through a single, highly filterable API; and help you as cultural partners connect to DVIN and update your own websites to promote the regional offer.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
If you would like to join the Digital Visitor Information Network to supply your business details and events listings, or would like more information, please contact Paul Marshall (Paul.Marshall@wmgrowth.com).
